Man Suffers Serious Injuries After Assault in Londontowne

Police say two men repeatedly punched a 45-year-old on July 7 and then fled in a vehicle.

A 45-year-old suffered serious, but not life-threatening injuries on July 7 after two other men repeatedly punched him near the intersection of Delmar Road and Shore Drive, police said. 

Friends of the 45-year-old victim alerted Patch to the incident. After speaking with police, Patch learned that Southern District Police Station detectives are actively investigating the incident.

Anne Arundel County police spokesman Justin Mulcahy said officers responded to a report of an injured person at around 8:20 p.m. July 7 near the intersection of Delmar Road and Shore Drive. Upon arrival, police discovered a 45-year-old man who appeared to have been severely assaulted.

“Investigation revealed that two male suspects punched the victim and continued to do so while he was on the ground,” Mulcahy said. “Both suspects fled the scene in a vehicle with a female acquaintance.”

Paramedics transported the man to Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis with serious, but not life-threatening injuries, according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department Chief Michael Cox.

Mulcahy added that detectives have identified at least one suspect in the case, and said the investigation is ongoing.
