Marlborough Hunt Races Won't Be Held at Roedown
This will be the second year in a row that the Davidsonville farm won't host the races.
Horse racing fans in south county were hopeful that the Marlborough Hunt Races would take place at Roedown Farm in Davidsonville this spring. However, it was recently announced that Roedown Farm will not be hosting the event in 2012, according to The Capital.
Roedown Farm's new owners and race officials couldn't strike a deal, according to the article. The race reportedly attracted more then 5,000 fans to the area. The Maryland Steeplechasing website lists the event as scheduled for April 1 and it's possible that the races could move to a new location.
Christy Clagett, the race's committee chairman, said in a written statement that Roedown Farm's new owners had too much work to do in too little time to host the large event, according to The Capital.
