Old Mill Ends Seahawks' Playoff Run
South River's baseball team couldn't contain the No. 1 seeded Patriots, who scored nine runs.
Old Mill's offensive power was too much for , as the Seahawks fell 9-1, losing in the second round of the Maryland Public Secondary Schools Athletic Association 4A state playoffs.
In a rainy matchup in Millersville, kept the game close for the first three innings. Pitcher Charlie Hardesty pitched three and two-thirds innings, but it was the fourth inning when things started to unravel.
Old Mill scored five runs in the fourth, making the score 7-0, and the Patriots never looked back.

With 10 strikeouts, Old Mill's dominant pitcher Josh Hader cruised through South River's lineup, only allowing two hits in six innings.
It wasn't until Hader was out of the game that South River scored a run. In the final inning, the Seahawks' Chris Casper, a senior, got the RBI in his final game as a high school baseball player.

However, at that point in the game, Old Mill was already up 9-1, and the game was all but complete.
South River ends the season with a 13-9 record.
