Peninsula Farms Closes Temporarily for 10 Days

 on Maryland Route 214 is temporarily closed while its owner waits for "local produce to grow in," according to a message on the business' answering machine. 

Several Patch readers contacted me wanting to know why . But after being unable to reach Peninsula Farms' owner Carol—who preferred not to share her last name in an earlier Patch interview— I tried the business line.

Carol's voicemail said starting last Thursday, the local market closed because she was waiting for "produce to grow in." She said the business should open again "in 10 days."

However in the meantime, Carol said she still has plants, jellies and other items available. She asked residents seeking products to call her at 443-454-5777 if they wish to purchase items, according to the voicemail. 

If everything sticks to plan, Peninsula Farms should open early next week. 

"We do appreciate the business and thanks for calling," Carol said on the answering machine message.
