Police: Robber Punched Bicyclist, Took Money

A Davidsonville man was arrested Sunday evening.

Police say a Davidsonville man grabbed a bicycle another man was riding in the 1600 block of Forest Drive Sunday night, punching the bike rider in the face and taking money from his pockets.

The robbery happened at 6:10 p.m. Sunday, according to police.

The robber fled when witnesses approached him. Officers found a man identified as the robber nearby.

Jason Edmonds, 24, of the 1500 block of Governor Bridge Road was arrested and charged with robbery, second-degree assault and theft. He remains held at the Jennifer Road Detention Center on $150,000 bail on those charges, according to online court records. However, Edmonds also had a probation violation warrant on which he is being held without bail, according to police.
