South River Falls in Field Hockey Playoffs
In other sports news, the girls soccer teams remain in the playoff hunt, while local volleyball teams earned high seeds in the state playoff tournament.

It was a tough day for local field hockey Monday, as the South River Seahawks fell in the MPSSAA Class 4A state playoffs.
South River dropped a 2-1 game to Broadneck. Arundel, a No. 2 seed in the East region, lost 1-0 to top-seeded Severna Park. Severna Park and Broadneck will play for the regional title.
Volleyball Bracket Announced
South River also earned a No. 1 seed, putting them on track for a regional final clash agains Arundel High. Broadneck and Severna Park are each seeded second and will pose tough challenges.
All four teams earned first-round byes and will play their second-round games on Monday, Nov. 4.
Girls Soccer Plays Tuesday
Girls soccer action continues Tuesday as second-seeded South River hosts North Point. Top-seeded Arundel faces Glen Burnie.
