South River Falls to Chesapeake Despite Strong Hitting

After earning an early lead, Chesapeake never looked back.

won the hit battle but couldn't push enough runs across to get the win, losing 3-1 in seven innings at Chesapeake High.

Scott Mitchell took the loss and Chesapeake never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring one run on a groundout followed by two more runs in the fourth.

In the seventh inning, South River pushed across its only run of the day with an RBI single by Joe Scott. Austin Wright and Joe Scott had two hits each.
