Scott Mitchell took the loss and Chesapeake never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring one run on a groundout followed by two more runs in the fourth. In the seventh inning, South River pushed across its only run of the day with an RBI single by Joe Scott. Austin Wright and Joe Scott had two hits each.
