South River High Rated High in Washington Post Rankings

South River High received the highest marks of any Anne Arundel County School in a Washington Post ranking of schools across the country. 

The Post's ranking of the nation's most challenging high schools evaluated schools on the number of high-level tests (such as Advanced Placement or International Baccalaurate) given to students each year. They were also scored based on how many students passed at least one college-level test. 

In its ranking of schools in Maryland, South River ranked 7th, and Southern ranked 34th.

The 2013 rankings also featured high marks for Severna Park (13th) Annapolis (17th) and Broadneck (19th).
