Outdoor Movie Night

Where: 85 W. Central Avenue, Edgewater
Details: Join your friends and neighbors for a night of seasonal fun as South Arundel Veterinary Hospital hosts an outdoor showing of Frankenweenie. Admission is free, but all donations will be split between the Davidsonville Wildlife Sanctuary and the PETS Fund.
Halloween Costume Party
When: Friday
Where: American Legion Post 226, 830 Central Ave., Edgewater
Details: Wear a costume for our costume contest and participate in trivia games throughout the night. DJ Chuck will be spinning tunes all night. Admission is free, must be 21 or older to attend.
Wicked Woods

Where: Monsignor Slade Catholic School, 120 Dorsey Road, Glen Burnie
Details: Monsignor Slade's Wicked Woods is back for its 15th year to haunt you this October.
Haunted Trail - Coven on the Patuxent
When: Friday, Saturday
Where: Fairhaven School, 17900 Queen Anne Road, Upper Marlboro
Details: Strange events have been reported in the area surrounding the Patuxent River. Are you brave enough to investigate these claims? Join other seekers in search of the truth. Ticket Prices $12 ages 13 and up. $6 ages 8-12. Children 7 and under free. Bring a non-perishable food item for the Bowie Interfaith Food Pantry and receive a $2 discount.
Children's Halloween Party

Where: South River Martial Arts, 20 Mayo Rd., Edgewater
Details: Party will feature a DJ, games, pizza candy and more. Party is for ages 9-11 and will begin at 6 p.m. Children should come dressed in a costume. Admission is $15 for SRMA members and $20 for non-members, cash only.

Details: Learn all about the different types of bats found in Maryland, and their differences and similarities to bats from around the world. Preregistration is required online at http://serc.si.edu, $4 per person.
Halloween ComicFest 2013 at Third Eye Comics
When: Saturday
Where: Third Eye Comics, 2027A West St., Annapolis
Details: Celebrate Halloween with true Third Eye style, with special creator guests, some sales on select items, and of course, free comics to put in your trick-or-treat bags.
Fall Festival

Spooky Science
When: Saturday
Where: Maryland Science Center, 601 Light St., Baltimore
Details: Visitors will shriek and scream (with joy!) as Reptiles Alive brings their exciting, educational and creepy live animal shows to the Maryland Science Center. The eerie animals will include slithering snakes, terrifying toads and bearded dragons.
Spooky Sounds, Haunted Harmonies by the LSO
When: Saturday
Where: South River High School, Central Ave., Edgewater
Details: This special Saturday evening concert will include favorite Halloween music for families and children.
FrankenFest 5K and Family Bash
When: Sunday
Where: Collison Field on Pump House Road at Truxtun Park Annapolis
Details: Costumes are encouraged at The FrankenFest 5K, which will kick off at 9 a.m. The course will go through the backwoods paths of Truxton Park and back around to the field where the Family Bash will ensue. Upon completion of the race, healthy snacks and drinks will be provided.
