Storm, Lightning Splits Large Tree in Edgewater

A short but powerful storm ripped through Anne Arundel County Friday night around 10 p.m. 

The dark clouds didn't reach the Edgewater and Davidsonville area until about 11 p.m., but the strong winds, heavy rain and lightning caused significant problems throughout town.

On Salisbury Road in Edgewater, a large tree split right down the middle from what appeared to be a lightning strike, according to local resident Melissa Huston. Check out Huston's pictures, and see it for yourself.
