'Supermoon' to Fill Saturday Night Sky
Patch lists some prime spots to watch the large and bright moon rise into the sky.
A “supermoon” is coming to the south county sky Saturday night.
It’s the same moon we always see but due to specific circumstances, the moon will appear larger than any other time in 2012, according to Yahoo! News.
Around 11:35 p.m. Saturday, the moon will become full, coinciding with the moon’s perigee—the closest it will be to Earth. For this specific perigee, our lunar neighbor will be closer Saturday than any other point throughout the calendar year.

“The moon will swing in 221,802 miles from our plant, offering skywatchers a spectacular view of an extra-big, extra-bright moon, nicknamed a supermoon,” according to the Yahoo! News article.
Yahoo! reported that the last supermoon occurred in March 2011. The article said the moon will be brightest just as it rises and sets.

- Anywhere near the Riva Road bridge.
I’m still relatively new to the area, so feel free to share other places where you can watch the supermoon fill the sky. Tell us in the comments.
