Route 2 Reopened After 2-Vehicle Accident
One woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma, according to fire spokesman chief Michael Cox.

UPDATE (3:45 p.m.)—Solomons Island Road south of Maryland Route 214 has been reopened after a two-vehicle accident shutdown traffic for about 2 1/2 hours Friday afternoon.
Three people were seriously injured in the accident, which occurred near Central Avenue at about 1:10 p.m., according to Anne Arundel County Fire Department spokesman chief Michael Cox. Police reopened the road around 3:45 p.m., according to a Southern Precinct dispatcher.
Cox said one person was trapped in each vehicle when firefighters arrived to the scene. It took 15-20 minutes to free both occupants, he said. A third person was injured, but already out of the car when EMS personnel arrived.

Cox did not know the ages of the three people.
One woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was flown to Maryland Shock Trauma in Baltimore, Cox said. The other two, a man and another woman, suffered serious but not life-threatening injuries.
