No. 1—

Power to the South River Colony was shut off Monday while BGE crews tended to the gas main leak around  the popular shopping center, said Joe McGovern, owner of .

A BGE spokeswoman confirmed the leak caused a power outage, and it took crews several hours to fix the incident. About eight customers were affected by the leak, the BGE spokeswoman said.

No. 2—

After two "bottle bomb" incidents in one week, Anne Arundel County police are warning the public that juveniles and adults may face felony charges for manufacturing and detonating devices.

On Monday at 6:30 p.m., officers responded for the report of an explosion in Pasadena. An investigation revealed that two teenage boys threw a plastic “bottle bomb” at a 6-year-old girl on the playground, according to a release. The device exploded, but did not injure the girl.

Less than a week ago, a similar  when three teens reportedly used Molotov cocktails to "exact revenge" on a resident.

No. 3—

More than 30 business partners and South River teachers collaborated Wednesday to change how kids learn in local classrooms.

As part of South River’s Global Communications and Public Affairs (GCPA) signature program, the event sought to answer the “why?” of high school education—“Why are we learning this?”

A wide variety of professionals attended the gathering, including state Sen. John Astle (D-Annapolis).

No. 4— 

Since the Anne Arundel County Council , many residents have contacted Patch wanting to know how they personally benefit from the distribution of county revenue.

When the County Council adopted the fiscal year 2013 budget, it funded  for the new school year—including 75 new teachers.
