West/Rhode Rivers Safe to Swim

The West/Rhode River's bacteria levels show the local waterway is safe to swim in for the first time in two weeks.

The following post was submitted by West/Rhode Riverkeeper and County Councilman Chris Trumbauer (D-6th District). The post focuses on the bacteria levels found in local waterways.

Hi everybody,

Good news this week! Our sampling did not record any bacteria levels above the EPA safe swimming limit. There was no rain preceding this week's monitoring on Wednesday. To see the full results of our sampling, click here.

It's going to be hot this weekend. If you are going out on the rivers to cool off, have fun and please contact us if you see anything of concern. Note: Next week we will be sampling on Monday, so that we can give you bacteria results in advance of the July 4 holiday.
