West/Rhode Rivers Still Safe to Swim Following Storm
The West/Rhode River's bacteria levels show the local waterways are safe to swim except for one area at Holly Hills.

The following post was submitted by West/Rhode Riverkeeper and County Councilman Chris Trumbauer (D-6th District). The post focuses on the bacteria levels found in local waterways.
Hi everybody,
Our volunteer monitoring teams went out early this week ... levels are safe throughout the West and Rhode Rivers, except for one moderately high reading at Holly Hills in Bearneck Creek (on the Rhode River). There was no significant rain in the 48 hours prior to sampling on Tuesday, so the source is something other than stormwater runoff.
If you are going out on the Rivers, please be safe and have fun.
