Tree Kills Woman After Falling On Vehicle Along Baltimore National Pike: HCPD
A Columbia woman was killed in Ellicott City when a tree fell on her SUV while she driving along Baltimore National Pike, police say.
HOWARD COUNTY, MD — A 56-year-old Columbia woman was killed Sunday evening when a tree fell on her vehicle in Ellicott City, police say.
Stephanie Scensny was driving a 2012 Honda CR-V around 5:35 p.m. Aug. 11 westbound on Baltimore National Pike just past the Baltimore County line when the tree fell on her vehicle. She was pronounced dead on the scene, according to Howard County Police.
A second vehicle, a 2012 Dodge Ram 1500, also was hit by the tree. The driver of that vehicle was taken to University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center with injuries not considered life-threatening, police said.
