APG's Large Loud Detonations Ongoing

The big booms from Aberdeen Proving Ground may continue between Dec. 17-21.

The loud booms that area residents have heard over the past month may continue next week, according to Aberdeen Proving Ground's U.S. Army Test and Evaluation Command.

Louder-than-normal detonations could be heard around the area between Dec. 17 and Dec. 21.

According to a statement from the Army Test and Evaluation Command, "These detonations are likely to generate sound and/or vibration outside the installation boundary. If weather conditions are not favorable in minimizing noise off the installation, firing will be rescheduled."
