New York Man Convicted in 2011 Essex Slaying

A New York man was found guilty Wednesday of killing an Essex man who he believed was having an affair with his wife.

Quincy Jackson of Brooklyn, NY was found guilty of first-degree murder and faces a maximum sentence of life in prison without parole in the shooting death of Nathan Bowles, according to a statement released by the Baltimore County State's Attorney's office.

The jury in Baltimore County Circuit Court found that Jackson, 44, shot Bowles 16 times on Jan. 8, 2011.

Police found Bowles' body on a landing in his apartment building located in the 9800 block of Langs Road. The gun used in the shooting was left at the scene. A tip led police to Jackson.

Police at the time of Jackson's arrest said investigators were told that Jackson believed Bowles had been in an affair with Jackson's wife, and that Jackson threatened to kill Bowles before.

Sentencing for Jackson is set for Feb. 12.
