Celebrating Creativity and Memories: Carnegie at Washingtonian Center
Resident Showcases Quilts
GAITHERSBURG, MD– The Carnegie at Washingtonian Center, a Kisco Signature community, is proud to share the inspiring story of one of its members, Betty Bhhuta, a former high school chemistry teacher, who has turned her passion for quilting into a vibrant tapestry of memories.
After retiring from teaching and moving to North Carolina, Bhuta discovered the world of quilting after befriending a group of women who shared her interest. Over the past 20 years, she has created countless quilts that capture the essence of her life’s journey, each telling a unique story from cherished family memories.
Since moving into The Carnegie, Bhuta has inspired many within the community who’ve had the opportunity to witness the beauty and craftmanship of her work. Many of her quilts were recently on display in the community’s dedicated art gallery. Bhuta often gifts her quilts to friends and family and creates bags for raffles and giveaways.
