Gaithersburg Fire Leaves Two Families Homeless

Thankfully, there were no injuries.

Two Gaithersburg families lost homes when a fire tore through a townhome over the weekend, according to the Montgomery County Fire Department.

The fire at 914 Bayridge Terrace was caused by an outside electrical light fixture, the department said. It caused more than $225,000 of damage, including $125,000 to the structure.

One family of seven got out safe after they heard their smoke alarm. Two total families were displaced, the department said.
