Police Seek Missing Gaithersburg Teen Who May Travel To NYC

Bernard Jappah Jr. left his Curry Ford Lane home at about 7 a.m. Monday and has not been seen since.

GAITHERSBURG, MD — Police are asking the public for help in locating a 16-year-old missing from Gaithersburg. Bernard Jappah Jr. was last seen by family on Monday morning, police said.

Jappah Jr. left his Curry Ford Lane home at about 7 a.m. Monday and has not been seen since. Police and family are concerned for his welfare and believe he may attempt to travel to New York City.

Police describe Jappah Jr. as a black male who is 5’ 4” tall and weighs 140 pounds. He has short black hair, brown eyes and wears glasses. He was last seen wearing a maroon sweater, blue jeans and carrying a maroon backpack with an orange zipper, police said.
