Registration Open for Bike to Work Day

Register in advance and submit your nominations for the Bethesda Bicycle Spirit Award.

How are you getting to work on May 20?

If you answered biking, you’ll have lots of company. May 20 is Bike to Work Day — sponsored in the Washington, D.C., region by the Washington Area Bicyclist Association and Metropolitan Washington Council of Government’s Commuter Connections — and over 10,000 people are planning on participating this year.

Registration is now open for the day, and the first 8,500 to enter will receive a free T-shirt. To prepare, participants can use WABA’s website or Google maps to plan out their route in advance, take a WABA cycling class, or sign up to join commuter convoy. Additionally, if you sign up, you can stop off at any of the 50 planned pit stops in the area for food, drinks, entertainment, and prizes.
