Report: Gaithersburg Waiter Bought Picassos With Customers’ Stolen Credit Cards

A former waiter from Gaithersburg was sentenced Thursday for stealing credit card numbers from customers in order to buy artwork—including a works by Pablo Picasso and an Henri Mattisse, Washingtonian reports.

Kevin Tyrone Washington—who got the card numbers as a waiter at the Thunder Burger in Georgetown—was sentenced to more than three years in jail and will have to pay $40,000 to the businesses he ripped off, according to Washingtonian.

Washington, 48, was arrested on Valentine’s Day last year in Fairfax County, VA, where he’s accused of using a stolen credit card to pay for his girlfriend’s plastic surgery, according to several published accounts.
