Road Closures Expected During Street Project In Montgomery County

Road closures should be expected during an upcoming road project that will begin Sunday, weather permitting.

MONTGOMERY COUNTY, MD — Starting Sunday at approximately 8 p.m., Alpha Space Control, working for the City of Gaithersburg, will perform safety improvements to striping, signage and channelizing curb with delineators. The work will take place between Brookes Avenue and Chestnut Street on Maryland Route 355 (North Frederick Avenue) and Walker Avenue.

The following are the hours planned for the work:

· Sunday, July 17, 8 p.m. to 5 a.m.

· Monday, July 18, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

· Tuesday, July 19, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Weather and progress permitting, all work is expected to be completed no later than July 22 at 3 p.m.

In case of inclement weather, the work will be bumped to July 20 and end July 22. Work during this time period will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

To complete this work, crews are permitted to close the inner lanes northbound and southbound and the turn lane northbound at Chestnut Street on MD 355 (North Frederick Avenue) within the project limits during the construction time period.
