GAITHERSBURG, MD — A tattoo artist is accused of sexually assaulting a female customer at his Gaithersburg apartment.

Montgomery County police say 28-year-old Corey Antonio DeVaul was arrested Sunday night outside his home for the assault, which reportedly took place a day earlier. He is charged with attempted second-degree rape and second-degree assault.

The woman told detectives that she wanted a tattoo and that a friend referred her to DeVaul for his services, which he advertised on social media under the name "C-Nasty."

The victim arranged to get a tattoo at DeVaul's apartment on Saturday, according to police.

Authorities say DeVaul sexually assaulted her as he was tattooing her body. The woman managed to escape and call 911, they added.

DeVaul is being held without bond. He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 4.

Investigators are seeking additional victims. They say DeVaul used to live in on Beall Avenue in Rockville and tattoo people there.
