From the City of Gaithersburg:
Explore all things sports as the City of Gaithersburg hosts the fourth, annual SportsFest, sponsored by WSSC and supported by UnitedHealthcare, on Saturday, July 16 from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Youth entering grades K-8 can participate in a variety of activities, learn about nutrition and wellness and get information from leading youth sports professionals. The free event, which takes place rain or shine, will be held at the Activity Center at Bohrer Park at Summit Hall Farm, located at 506 S. Frederick Ave.
The Gaithersburg Sports philosophy of participation over competition will be on display as the day kicks off with a 1K Fun Run even through Bohrer Park at 8:30 a.m. After that, participants can test their skills in soccer, football, baseball, track and field, basketball, volleyball, cricket and tennis, visiting challenge stations located on the front field and inside the Activity Center. T-shirts and prizes will be awarded for completing the challenges.
