$100,000 Scratch-Off Win Has Man Planning Beach Vacation
A Montgomery County man can pack for an end-of-summer beach getaway to celebrate his $100,000 win, Maryland Lottery officials said.
GERMANTOWN, MD — A scratch-off player from Montgomery County can start packing for an end-of-summer beach getaway to celebrate his $100,000 win on an Ultimate Cash instant ticket, the Maryland Lottery said.
The player bought his $10 scratch-off at Best Beer, Wine & Deli in Gaithersburg, where he frequently stops to buy Lottery games.
The Germantown resident bought seven Ultimate Cash instant tickets, telling Lottery officials he hoped that would give him a better shot at a big win. One of the games revealed a money bag symbol with a matching $100,000 top prize.

“I thought the machine was broken,” said the winner. So far, he hasn’t made any major plans for his prize except taking his girlfriend to the beach before summer ends.
The retailer, Best Beer, Wine & Deli located at 18749 Frederick Ave., collects a $1,000 Lottery bonus for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off.
