2 Killed In Wrong-Way Crash On I-270, State Police Say
Two people died Saturday in a two-vehicle crash with one of the vehicles driving the wrong direction on Interstate 270 in Montgomery County.
GERMANTOWN, MD — Two people died early Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash with one of the vehicles driving the wrong direction on Interstate 270 in Montgomery County, according to Maryland State Police.
The deceased were identified as Ashley Salazar, 25, of Clarksburg, and Jeremy De La Torre, 33, of Frederick, police said.
Salazar was the driver and sole occupant of a Chevy Cruz. De La Torre was the driver and sole occupant of a Honda Accord. The preliminary investigation indicates the Chevy, for unknown reasons, was southbound in the northbound lanes of I-270 when it struck the Honda.

Both victims were pronounced dead on the scene by Montgomery County emergency medical services personnel, authorities said.
Shortly before 3 a.m., troopers from the Maryland State Police Rockville Barrack responded to the crash in the area of northbound Interstate 270 at Germantown Road.
