'Call Of Duty' Backpack Leads To Armed Robbery Arrest: Police
An exclusive "Call of Duty" backpack led to the arrest of a man who allegedly robbed a Germantown 7-Eleven while armed.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Police arrested a suspect who robbed a Germantown 7-Eleven with a gun in broad daylight May 19, and his "Call of Duty" backpack helped officers ID him, police said.
Logan Stefon Lawson, 21, of Germantown was arrested at a Gaithersburg motel on May 25. He is accused of robbing a 7-Eleven at 12861 Clopper Rd. around 2:49 p.m. Saturday, May 19.
Detectives noticed the suspect was wearing a "Call of Duty" backpack in a surveillance video, which was given to customers who pre-ordered the latest Call of Duty video game during a set time.

Detectives were able to confirm Lawson pre-ordered the game and received the bag, police said.
Police said an adult male employee was behind the counter when the suspect entered the store, displayed a handgun and demanded cash from the registers.

Detectives received multiple tips after putting out a media alert, which led to the arrest of the suspect, police said, as well as a Montgomery County Police officer who "was familiar with Lawson" and identified him as a suspect.
Lawson was charged with one count of armed robbery, one count of first-degree assault and one count of the use of a firearm during the commission of a felony, police said.
Investigators located evidence from the robbery at the motel Lawson was arrested at, police said. He is currently being held without bond.
