Democrats Back Fraser-Hidalgo for Vacant District 15 Seat

Fraser-Hildago was chosen over seven other candidates, Maryland Juice reports.

Montgomery County Democrats will recommend that David Fraser-Hidalgo, a Boyds resident, fill the Maryland House of Delegates seat left open after District 15 Del. Brian Feldman’s appointment to the state senate, Maryland Juice reports.

Fraser-Hidalgo was chosen over seven other candidates, including former Delegate Saqib Ali, Maryland Juice reports.

The appointment was triggered by the resignation of Germantown Senator Robert Garagiola. Feldman was appointed as Garagiola’s replacement.

Fraser-Hidalgo’s name will be forwarded to Gov. Martin O’Malley, who will ultimately decide who will fill Feldman’s seat.

Bethesda Magazine reports that Fraser-Hidalgo, a businessman and former Montgomery County policeman, ran for a delegate seat in 2010 primary. 

Fraser-Hildago tells The Gazette that he plans to run again in 2014.

District 15 represents much of northern Montgomery County and portions of Frederick County.
