Germantown Dad Accused Of Holding Son At Knifepoint, Threatening To Kill Him
The man is facing several charges following the incident, Montgomery County police said.

GERMANTOWN, MD — A Germantown man is facing charges after police said he held his 9-year-old son at knifepoint and threatened to kill him.
Montgomery County police responded to the 19900 block of Stoney Point Way in Germantown around 10:15 p.m. on Saturday after receiving a call about a domestic disturbance. According to police, the caller said a man, later identified as 47-year-old Dugan Gokhan, was inside the home threatening to kill his child.
According to police, officers arrived and spoke with family members to try to de-escalate the situation while also trying to communicate with Gokhan.

When officers entered the home, police said Gokhan went into the kitchen and held a large knife to his son. Officers asked Gokhan to drop the knife multiple times, but he refused, authorities said.
Shortly after, a police sergeant entered the home and deployed his Taser, causing Gokhan to drop the knife, authorities said. Officers were then able to move the child to safety.

No injuries were reported, police said.
Gokhan was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault, second-degree child abuse, reckless endangerment, and resisting arrest. He is currently being held at the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit.
