Germantown Double Shooting: Boy, 16, and Man, 21, Killed

Cesar Segovia, a 16-year-old from Gaithersburg, and Jeffrey Baffour Akowuah, a 21-year-old from Germantown, were shot Wednesday, MCP said.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Two people were shot and killed in Germantown on Wednesday and Montgomery County Police are working to to determine the connection, authorities said in a news release.

Authorities say that Cesar Segovia, a 16-year-old from Gaithersburg, and Jeffrey Baffour Akowuah, a 21-year-old from Germantown, met, for unknown reasons, in the area of 19600 Crystal Rock Drive around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday.

At about 4:20, officers went to the Holy Cross Germantown Hospital in the 19800 block of Observation Drive for a call about a gunshot wound, where Cesar died, the news release says.

At 4:40 p.m. officers went to to the 19700 block of Crystal Rock Drive to respond to calls about another shooting, where they found Akowuah. Akowuah died at the scene of the shooting, police said.

Police said they are investigating the shootings and are trying to determine what the meeting between the two victims was about.
