Germantown Shooting Victims Shot Each Other, MOCO Police Say
MOCO Police said they believe that a 16-year-old and 21-year-old who died from gunshot wounds Wednesday in Germantown shot each other.

GERMANTOWN, MD — A 16-year-old boy and 21-year-old man who died after being shot Wednesday in Germantown are believed to have shot each other, Montgomery County Police said.
Cesar Segovia, the 16-year-old from Gaithersburg, and Jeffrey Baffour Akowuah, the 21-year-old from Germantown, met, for unknown reasons, in the area of 19600 Crystal Rock Drive around 4:10 p.m. Wednesday, authorities said.
Officers went to the Holy Cross Germantown Hospital for a call about a gunshot wound around 4:20 p.m., where Cesar died, a news release says. About 20 minutes laters, officers went to to the 19700 block of Crystal Rock Drive to respond to calls about another shooting, where they found Akowuah. He died at the scene of the shooting, police said.

Police initially said they were investigating the reason for the meeting and the circumstances of the shooting, and updated the public Friday to say they believe Cesar and Akowuah shot each other when they met.
