Harmony Explosion MoCo 2023 Season To End With Free Concert

Harmony Explosion MoCo 2023 will close with a free concert open to the public Jan. 21 at Neelsville Presbyterian Church in Germantown.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Harmony Explosion MoCo 2023 will close with a free concert open to the public at Neelsville Presbyterian Church, 20701 Frederick Road, Germantown. The concert will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Jan. 21. Masks are required.

During the day, on Saturday, Jan. 21, at Harmony Explosion MoCo 2023, Harmony Express, a nonprofit chorus featuring the barbershop style of music, will host 60 students and choral teachers Tessa Walker and Amy Vanek from Seneca Valley and Clarksburg High Schools.

The event introduces the students to barbershop singing with the help of the Quin-Tones Quartet as clinicians. The Quin-Tones won the Next Generation Junior Barbershop Quartet Championship for age 17 and under in 2019.

Harmony Explosion MoCo 2023 is funded in part by Harmony Foundation International and the Maryland State Arts Council, with support from Barbershop Harmony Society, the Quin-Tones quartet, and Walker (choir director at Seneca Valley High School and a barbershopper herself).
