How To Recycle Christmas Trees In Germantown 2022
Montgomery County residents can have their tree taken away through the county's curbside yard trim collection program.

GERMANTOWN, MD — Some people leave their tree up until Little Christmas, others prefer to get it out of the house soon after the holiday is over. Whatever your preference, you'll be able to have it picked up by Montgomery County when you're ready to part with it.
The Department of Environmental Protection includes Christmas tree pickup in its year-round yard trim collection service. All residents need to do is put their tree near the curb by 7 a.m. on their regular recycling day, the county said.
If you live in an apartment or condo, check with your property manager for specific instructions about where to leave the tree.

Everyone is asked to remove lights, ornaments, garland, metal, and anything else artificial that you may have put on your tree. The tree will be composted and or chipped for mulch, so it's important to make sure there isn't anything on it.

Anyone with an artificial tree they're looking to get rid of will have to request a bulk trash pickup.
Those with wreaths will need to separate the greenery from the wires and decorations in order to include them in the yard trim collection.
