GERMANTOWN, MD – Drumstick wasn't the only turkey pardoned this year. It looks like another lucky bird survived the holiday weekend, but found himself lost in Germantown. Are you missing a big, white bird?
On November 28, a pet turkey was found wandering a Germantown neighborhood yard. The turkey was determined by the Montgomery County Maryland Lost Pets Facebook page not to be wild and animal control was called soon after. A picture of the lost turkey was posted on the Montgomery County Maryland Lost Pets Facebook page along with a caption asking for its owner to reach out.

Germantown resident Jessica Gordon found the turkey on her way home from school and snapped a video of the bird. Gordon said that she called Second Chance Wildlife rescue as well as animal control, who told her to leave the turkey to its own devices, but after determining that it wasn't wild, animal control sent an officer to the location. At the time of publication, the officer had not yet arrived on scene.
