Man Arrested After 3 People Shot Outside His Germantown Home

The Germantown man is facing multiple charges, including attempted murder, following the Wednesday incident.

GERMANTOWN, MD — A Germantown man is facing charges after authorities said he shot three people who were outside his home.

Nicholas Lloyd, 44, was charged with three counts of attempted second-degree murder, three counts of first-degree assault, three counts of second-degree assault and weapons charges following the Wednesday incident, Montgomery County police said in a news release.

According to police, officers were called to the 20000 block of Shadyside Way in Germantown around 11:50 p.m. for a report of a shooting.

An investigation later revealed the shooting stemmed from an ongoing dispute involving several individuals. Around 10 p.m., police said three men and a woman were outside Lloyd’s home when Lloyd fired a rifle at the group from his balcony, striking three of the four people outside the residence. Police said the shooting was a result of the dispute.

Following the shooting, police said Lloyd ran out of his home and rendered aid to one of the men, who was later taken to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The second man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was also taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The third man suffered a graze wound and was treated at the scene.

Officers recovered Lloyd’s rifle, placed him under arrest and took him to the Montgomery County Central Processing Unit, where he is being held without bond.
