MOCO Comic Convention Coming To Germantown Public Library Jan. 15
Fans of comic books, graphic novels and fandoms can go to the Germantown Public Library on Jan. 15 for a free day of fun.

GERMANTOWN, MD — MoComCon, a free comic convention, will return for its sixth year on Jan. 15. This year, the Germantown Public Library will host.
Any fans of comics, graphic novels or fandoms could find something to enjoy at MoComCon. The first event starts at 10:30 a.m., and doors to the library will open at 10 a.m.
There will be a cosplay contest, as well as an art and essay contest. There will be contest brackets for kids, teenagers and adults — get the contest sign up forms here.

Here's the schedule of events for the day, given by Montgomery County:
- Superhero Storytime, 10:30 a.m., Virtual
- Toy Design: From Screen to Shelf, Noon., In-person & Virtual
- Gaming Trivia, 1:15 p.m., In-person & Virtual
- Board Games: The Creative Process, 2:30 p.m., In-person & Virtual
- Cosplay Contests, 3:30 p.m., In-person
- Life-size Candyland, Noon, In-person
- Oculus Rift, Noon, In-person
- Games Unbound, Noon, in-person
The Germantown Public Library reopened in October after being closed for a refresh project — upgrades include new ergonomic sit-stand circulation and information desks; renovation of the public restrooms; new paint, carpet and other floor finishes; and new furniture in most of the library, among other things.
