Poolesville Playground Fire: Child Charged With Arson, Authorities Say
A child was charged with arson and released to their parents after a playground fire that caused $75K in damage.

POOLESVILLE, MD — A child was charged with arson in connection to a fire at a Poolesville playground that is estimated to have caused about $75k in damage, a Montgomery County Fire and Rescue spokesperson said.
The child was released to their parents and no one was injured in the fire, said spokesperson Pete Piringer.
Piringer said there was a paper bag and sandwich container set on fire below the playground equipment, which caught the rubber mulch on fire.
