Star Student: Hospital Volunteer In Clarksville Plans To Be A Doctor
We all know students who excel in academic, fine arts or volunteer service. Here's a local resident who is having an impact in Clarksville.

CLARKSVILLE, MD — Star Students are found in classrooms, on concert and theater stages and at debate lecterns, and out in the community doing good things to make life better for all of us.
Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize Star Students, and we’re working to tell the stories of these outstanding kids to their neighbors.
This submission comes from Margaret Kim, who nominated Sanah Ahmed of Clarksville, Maryland.

Why do you believe the star local student should be recognized?
Sanah Ahmed is a gifted and academically superior student interested in pursuing a career helping others as a physician. Sanah is a dedicated and hard-working student with varied interests outside of the classroom. She is a musician and plays both the piccolo and the flute. She also has a love for sports as a varsity field hockey player. Lastly, Sanah loves helping the community and is a volunteer for Johns Hopkins Howard County Medical Center and is an advocate for the youth community as well as supporting the Seeds of Hope mental health initiative.
What's one thing you want everyone to know about the star local student?
Sanah is a kind, empathetic, dedicated student who started a baking business called Sanah's Sweets to help support the Seeds of Hope Program being rolled out in Howard County Public Schools this year. A percentage of every cupcake sold will go to fund the Seeds of Hope initiative.
Congratulations on your achievements, and all of our best wishes to you in the future, Sanah Ahmed!
