Where To See Santa In Germantown Area This Christmas Season

GERMANTOWN, MD — Santa Claus will be back in the Germantown area this holiday season after a couple of years of COVID-19 restrictions that made it difficult for kids to crawl up on his lap and make their case that they’ve been good boys and girls over the last year.

Visits and pictures with Santa are at the heart of many families’ holiday traditions, but the coronavirus pandemic gave them a lump of coal. Malls and other places took social distancing measures in both 2020 and 2021 to help contain the spread of the virus, moving Santa meet-ups largely online.

Virtual visits are still an option in many places, but there’s nothing quite like seeing jolly old St. Nick live and in person.

Near Germantown, kids have several chances:

Butlers Orchard Pictures with Santa at Holiday Harvest Days: See Santa at the Holiday Harvest Days in the Farm Park, 22222 Davis Mill Road, Germantown. Santa will be taking pictures from our tractor on Dec. 4, 11, and 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tickets to Holiday Harvest Days on these Sundays are $5/car, no reservations required.

Gaithersburg Santa Tour: December 3, 4 & 10, Gaithersburg becomes the North Pole when Santa welcomes your visit at three locations. Bring your own camera to capture the memories. There are limited time slots at each location. Reservations are required for all events through RecXpress. Tickets are non-refundable.

Pictures with Santa: Celebrate the holidays on Saturday, Dec. 3, at King Farm Village Center, which is located at 403 Redland Blvd. in Rockville. There will be a DJ, faceprinting and an opportunity for children to have their picture taken with Santa.

Photos with Santa: Have your photo taken with Santa through Dec. 24, at Ellsworth Place, which is located at 8661 Colesville Road in Silver Spring.

Where is Santa At Arundel Mills?: Have your photo taken with Santa through Dec. 24, at Arundel Mills Mall, which is located at 7000 Arundel Mills Circle in Hanover. Reservations and free calls from Santa can be booked online.

Where Is Santa In Wheaton?: Have your photo taken with Santa through Dec. 24, at Westfield Wheaton Plaza, which is located at 11160 Viers Mill Road in Wheaton. Reservations and free calls from Santa can be booked online.

Photos with Santa: Children can have their photo taken with Santa through Dec. 24, at Westfield Montgomery Mall, which is located at 7101 Democracy Blvd. in Bethesda.

Santa arrived Nov. 12 at Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s Santa’s Wonderland in Hanover and will hold court through Christmas Eve. Reservations are encouraged.

Santa will be at Macy’s stores in New York City, Chicago, San Francisco, Philadelphia, Atlanta, Boston and Orlando. Macy's Santaland at Home allows children, including those in Germantown, meet Santa virtually.
