Area Artists To Showcase Work at Arundel Center

Nine Glen Burnie area artists will have their artwork displayed at in Annapolis beginning next week in the Anne Arundel County Commission on Disability Issues' first art exhibit.

Local artists include Garland Burley, Daniel Davis, Ed Dober, Bryan Knipp, David Price, Keith Rebstock, Ashawn Supel and Rachel Vavra of Glen Burnie and David Brown of Brooklyn Park. The artwork will be on display beginning April 19.

They are among the 21 artists who range in age from school children to older adults selected to have their art displayed in the county government building.

The purpose of the exhibit is to give artists who have various disabilities a chance to showcase their talents in a highly visible, respected way, according to a press release from the Anne Arundel County Department of Aging and Disabilities.

Participants were selected by three judges from the Arts Council of Anne Arundel County.

The exhibit will run from April 19 to June 15, with an opening night reception being held from 4:30-6:30 p.m. in the Arundel Center lobby, according to the release. The public is welcome to attend.
