- Baltimore Police officer Eric Banks Jr., 34, has been charged with first-degree murder in the death of his 15-year-old stepson, Dasan Jones. The Glen Burnie High School student died by asphyxiation, and had injuries to his neck, face, and mouth. The arrest warrant issued charged Banks with first-degree murder in addition to second-degree murder and child abuse resulting in death. (Free: NBC, Subscription: Baltimore Sun)
- A newborn girl was found on the wooded 600 block area of Greenway Road in Glen Burnie. The Anne Arundel County Fire Department Medic Unit and police officers discovered the girl, who was taken to a local hospital. Under Maryland's Safe Haven law, a parent has up to 10 days after a child's birth to anonymously and safely give up custody of the child. They may do so by leaving newborns at hospitals or law enforcement stations. (Glen Burnie Patch)
- An Anne Arundel County Police officer suffered minor injuries after being involved in a car crash with another person. The collision occurred between Ritchie Highway at Furnace Branch Road in Glen Burnie, and is still under investigation. That portion of the road will remain closed during the investigation.
