Brooklyn Park Man Receives 5 Years of Probation After Stabbing Conviction
Jesse Edward Chapman pleaded guilty last June to attacking his stepfather and choking his mother in 2011.

A Brooklyn Park man who pleaded guilty to stabbing his stepfather and choking his mother in 2011 will face five years of probation and mental health treatment, after serving the past two years in prison, reports The Capital-Gazette.
An Anne Arundel County Circuit Court judge sentenced Jesse Edward Chapman, 27, to 10 years in prison, with eight years suspended and two years already served, according to the report.
Police initially charged Chapman with attempted second-degree murder and several other offenses, after they said he became intoxicated, assaulted his mother and cut his stepfather on his wrists, shoulder and chest. Last June, he pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of first-degree assault.
