Fatal Crash Claims 87-Year-Old On Ritchie Highway: Police
A fatal crash in Anne Arundel County claimed an 87-year-old woman, police said. Two others were also hospitalized.

GLEN BURNIE, MD — A recent Glen Burnie crash claimed one person's life and hospitalized two others, police said.
Officers identified the deceased victim as 87-year-old Mamie F. Johnson of Baltimore. The two hospitalized victims are expected to survive their minor injuries.
The crash happened Friday around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of Ritchie Highway and Mountain Road, authorities said.

Police said a 2020 Buick Envision SUV got a green arrow and started turning left from southbound Ritchie Highway onto eastbound Mountain Road.
Officers said Johnson was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu sedan north on Ritchie Highway.

The Chevrolet failed to stop for the red light and hit the turning Buick, authorities said.
Medics took the Chevrolet driver and the two adult Buick occupants to an undisclosed hospital, police said.
Officers said Johnson died at the hospital.
Authorities are still investigating.
