Glen Burnie Man Charged With Attempted Murder, Robbery
Police arrested Joseph Schrump early Sunday morning after they said he stabbed a clerk and robbed a Mobil gas station.

Police arrested a Glen Burnie man early Sunday morning in connection with the stabbing of a clerk and robbery of a Mobil gas station.
Joseph Earl Schrump, 22, of Glen Burnie was charged with attempted second-degree murder, two counts of robbery, first- and second-degree assault and reckless endangerment.
According to a police press release, officers responded to a Mobil gas station in the 7200 block of Ritchie Highway at about 3:45 a.m. Sunday for a reported robbery.

Once on the scene, officers saw an altercation in the doorway of the Mobil and after investigation determined that the clerk resisted and struggled with Schrump when police said he attempted to rob the store. During the struggle, police said Schrump pulled a knife and stabbed the clerk, causing multiple cuts.
Police said Schrump then ran from the scene to the nearby and officers established a perimeter around the area. They spotted Schrump on the northern edge of the cemetery when he was arrested.
