Lock the Windows: Police Warn of Daytime Burglaries

In all five reported burglaries, which occurred in Glen Burnie in December, the suspect placed something sturdy under windows to enter homes.

Anne Arundel County police said two suspects in five burglaries that occurred in Glen Burnie in December gained access to the homes by placing a sturdy object under a window.

Common items stolen during the reported incidents, which occurred between Dec. 7 and Christmas Day, were cash and electronics, according to an advisory message sent through Nixle. Most of the burglaries occurred during daylight hours, police said.

  • Dec. 7—Eldridge Road: The suspects placed a trash can under a window to get into the home and took cash.
  • Dec. 8—Burwood Avenue: The suspects placed a recycle bin under a window to get into the home and took cash.
  • Dec. 11—Wellham Avenue: The suspects placed a storage container under a window to get into the home and took cash, a digital camera and a coin collection.
  • Dec. 19—Cherry Lane: The suspects placed a recycle bin under a window to get into the home and took video game consoles.
  • Dec. 25—Leisure Lane: The suspects placed a recycle bin under a window to get into the home and took jewelry and coins.
