LINTHICUM, MD — Linthicum Heights will honor late veterans with a 5K fun run this Memorial Day, which is on Monday, May 30. Attendees will also participate in a circle of remembrance.

The event starts at 9 a.m. at the Linthicum Veterans Memorial. That monument sits at 203 Maple Road and pays tribute to members of the armed forces.

Construction on the memorial began in 2008, and it finished in 2010. The corner park features hundreds of brick pavers with the names of local veterans.

The bricks are still available for purchase at this website. Leaders add the new pavers to the monument each year.

This year's 5K and meetup were organized by wear blue, a running organization that honors and unites the military community. Linthicum Heights resident Anna Catherine also helped plan the gathering.
