Here are the top stories in Glen Burnie today:
- The search for 25-year-old Elbridge Murray has ended as authorities found the missing man dead in Baltimore. Murray was found at the 700 block of Aliceanna Street in the water. Murray's death is under investigation and his body has been taken to the M.E office to determine the cause of death. Prior to Murray's disappearance he was last seen on Nov.24, in the area of Falls Avenue and Fleet Street. (Wmar2news)
- A national Christmas Tree Shortage that started last year has continued into the 2021 holiday season, and this year is likely to be worse than 2020. For consumers, it means there's no time to waste in getting to a tree farm or lot. Last year, with people staying home for the holidays, was a record year for Christmas tree sales. That forced suppliers to cut and ship trees that normally would have been given another year to grow. While an expected increase in holiday travel may cut into last year's record demand, Christmas tree sellers are now dealing with record-low supply. (Patch)
- The Board of Education of Anne Arundel County is scheduled to vote on adoption of the 2022-2023 School Year Calendar at its next meeting, scheduled for Wednesday, December 1, 2021. Two calendar recommendations from the school system's Calendar Committee, made of up of parents, students, and school system staff, including representatives of all four employee bargaining units, were presented to the Board at its Nov. 17, meeting. Both call for classes to begin on August 29, 2022. (Press Release Desk )
