- Anne Arundel County Police identified the mother of the newborn girl who was abandoned on Wednesday in a wooded area of Glen Burnie. No criminal charges have been filed against the mother, who is receiving medical treatment and has access to the county's crisis intervention resources. The infant is healthy and safe at a local hospital. The investigation is ongoing. (Read more on Patch)
- Maryland drivers only have 30 days to renew driver's licenses, learner’s permits, and identification cards that expired during the COVID-19 State of Emergency. Any licenses that expired between March 12, 2020 and August 15, 2020 must renewed by August 15, 2021. The MVA announcement has no effect on the federal REAL ID deadline, which has been extended to May 3, 2023. (Bay Net)
- On July 9, 2021, Glen Burnie Bancorp declared a new dividend of of US $0.10 per share will be paid to its shareholders by July 30, 2021.
